Me, eating SHIT over the barriers at the first cross race of the season. Its a little fuzzy but if you look closely you can see that my hands are still on the bars as I am pinned beneath my bike. Yep. Thats me. A professional cyclocross racer. No. I was not trying to bunny hop the barriers like Jeff Beeston did (smoothly). I just clipped my foot on the barrier, and as Sue Haywood likes to say "the hand of God came down and smacked me." Hard. Boom. I was down. The worst part is that I taught the Learn to Cyclocross Clinic about 3 hours earlier for all the beginners. Barriers were my specialty. Let's hope that is out of my system....
Thanks to Dave Shishkoff for the photo. I think its fuzzy because he was laughing so hard.

That's awesome! Good to get it out of the way early on!

heheh - it's fuzzy because i had the camera pre-focused on you being upright. I was expecting you to be in a different spot!! =P

Too funny your hands are still on the bars, i didn't notice! I did see that the bike was on top of you, which is kind of....unusual.

Glad i was there for it, anyway! =)

You missed the real gem from the picture - there is a Kona sign in plain view. I am sure that Kona was very happy with this picture. Maybe it will go on the cover of velo news...

I made that same maneuver last week while practicing but I wasn't lucky enough to have dave document it!

WTG keeping your hands on the bars, beats a snapped clavicle. I bet you missed demonstrating that to the clinic earlier.

I'll bet the first thing you did was get up and look around to see who was watching?
